RFID Nordic Scholarship Award to Master project for Bluetest

Master students Jacob Hidén Rudander and Ikram-E-Khuda have received the RFID Nordic scholarship Award 2011 for the Master project “RFID Measurements in Reverberation Chamber”, finalized in Dec 2010. The award amounts to SEK 20 000.

The jury motivation was: “Jacob Hidén Rudander and Ikram-E-Khuda have, by a novel use of available technology, proposed and verified a new way to characterize RFID tags through measurements. This new method has the potential to make RFID tag screenings and other types of measurements, faster and more realistic, and thus reducing the cost for such activities. This work is also believed to contribute to the general understanding of estimating the effects of [real world] multi-path wave propagation issues in UHF RFID systems.”

The project was performed at Chalmers and resulted in the scientific paper J. Hidén Rudander, Ikram-e-Khuda, P.-S. Kildal, C. Orlenius, “Measurements of RFID Tag Sensitivity in Reverberation Chamber”, that now has been accepted for publication in IEEE Antennas and Wireless Propagation Letters.
