At the end of 2009 Bluetest released the LTE/MIMO OTA solution and today 16 customers worldwide are now using the active LTE/MIMO 2x2 solution to test and develop LTE User Equipment. This is a tremendous growth of users for Bluetest’s LTE/MIMO solution. Along with the rapid growth on the LTE device market the number is expected to increase in the future.

Bluetest has during the calendar year 2010 doubled its revenue. The major growth has been in the LTE/MIMO testing field where now more than 15 LTE/MIMO Reverberation Test Systems are installed and in daily use by mobile phone manufacturers and operators around the world. Bluetest has also during the year broken in to a number of new markets, which helped with the growth.

To further speed up the pace in the rapidly growing company Bluetest, based in Gothenburg, ALMI Invest Västsverige (ALMI Invest West Sweden) makes a second investment together with K-Svets Venture of 6 MSEK in the company.

The RTS60 was introduced to the market at the end of August this year as the improved replacement for the HP700. The RTS60 has, among other features, improved accuracy and a number of new options like USB and/or Ethernet control of the DUT. One month after the introduction, Bluetest receives the first order for the new system from a customer that is designing highly advanced mobile terminals.

Bluetest has during the last month received orders from 5 new customers on the LTE/MIMO TRP, TIS and Throughput OTA test solution. The Bluetest LTE/MIMO OTA solution was released at the end of 2009 and has since then been ordered/installed at customers in Asia, Europe and the USA. Feedback from customers that uses it on a daily basis is very positive, where they say that it is a very easy to use and fast solution, where it is possible to get reliable and repeatable throughput results in some minutes.

Bluetest is increasing the range of tests that can be performed in the HP700 System with HSPA TPUT (throughput) Software. The software has been out for beta testing at a number of customer sites, all customers that have been testing the software are very satisfied. Bluetest has received 8 orders during the last 4 months and already now set a new all time high for the fiscal year 2010 (2009-05-01 – 2010-04-30). This is the 4th year in a row of increasing sales. Several of the recent new orders have been with the new LTE MIMO option which allows high speed and repeatable active MIMO/LTE measurements in minutes for LTE enabled devices. The option includes new hardware and software modules for LTE TRP, TIS and Throughput measurements.

Today Bluetest received its 4th LTE MIMO order since this option was released 2010-02-05 and the demand for this solution is growing rapidly among Bluetest’s existing customers as well as from many new customers.

The Bluetest newly developed algorithm for TIS measurements together with the Bluetest chamber technology enables the TIS measurements in only 3 minutes/channel. Together with the markets fastest TRP measurements, the Fast TIS option will dramatically increase the throughput in the test lab.

Today Bluetest received its first order, from a world-leading wireless company, of the new LTE MIMO option. This option for the Bluetest HP 700 chamber is the first of its kind to be able to do high speed and repeatable active MIMO/LTE measurements in minutes for LTE enabled devices. Bluetest Received a new order for one HP700 System from Japan. The customer is one of the biggest player in the mobile handset area. With this order Bluetest has delivered 9 systems to Japan.

The interest in using Bluetest chambers for very fast measurements of antenna efficiency, TRP, TIS and MIMO/antenna diversity gain is increasing rapidly worldwide. This was confirmed by 4 orders during the last 3 weeks of the Bluetest HP chamber to be installed in Sweden, Korea, Taiwan and Japan. Three of these orders were from new customers, while one was a repeated order from an already existing customer.

The Bluetest chambers are the fastest and most cost effective OTA test chambers for SISO and MIMO devices using small antennas. They are also the most easy to use and maintain. The sales growth over the last three years has been about 500%.

Kjell Olovsson has joined Bluetest as Vice President for sales and business development. He will use his long international experience in the RF testing field to expand the Bluetest business around the world.

During the spring, Almi Företagspartner set up a new venture capital company, Almi Invest AB. The aim is to improve access to venture capital for companies in their initial stages and expansion phases. Almi Invest is now making its first investment in Bluetest, a company which has developed a new method for testing wireless products. This investment is being made in partnership with QuieTek, a leading Taiwanese testing company. Together, Almi and QuieTek are investing a total of SEK 4 million. Bluetest has recieved two orders for Bluetest HP chambers in June from our Japanese distributor TOYO. These are our sixth and seventh orders from Japan in little over a year. The Japanese market is usually difficult to break into unless you have a product and distributor of high quality. Seven orders of a product using a new technology, in little over a year, is solid proof that Bluetest has both.

Bluetest sales are accelerating despite the economic turmoil on the world markets. The turnover for the fiscal year May 2008 - April 2009 has increased by 177% compared to the previous year and by about 450% compared to two years ago.

Bluetest's US distributor MI Technologies recieved today a Bluetest HP chamber order from a large US based wireless company. This is MI Technologies first Bluetest order in the US and it will be Bluetest chamber no. 8 to be installed in North-America. The interest in the Bluetest reverberation chamber technology has accelerated during the last year as more and more companies have become aware of the significant cost and time savings that can be made in using this technology for extremely fast OTA measurements of devices with small single or multiple antenna configurations.

The 22nd annual meeting of SAMS (Swedish Antenna Measurement Society) will take place at Lindholmen Science Park May 14th. There will be technical presentations before lunch, followed by visits to Bluetest AB and some other places of interest after lunch.

The Bluetest reverberation chamber technology is used to measure the total RF performance of wireless devices with small antennas. In the past two years the sales of Bluetest products have accelerated and in a few years we believe most companies working with products using small antennas will use this technology. This workshop will explain why reverberation chambers are to be preferred to anechoic chambers. It will give detailed information of how antenna diversity gain and MIMO capacity, both of which are key technologies for new (e.g. HSPA, 802.11n) and future (WiMAX, LTE) wireless broadband systems, can be tested in minutes with high repeatability.

Bluetest´s Taiwanese distributor QuieTek has recieved an order for a Bluetest High Performance (HP) chamber from Micro-Star International (MSI) in Taiwan. David Cheng, Sales Manager at QuieTek says "- QuieTek and Bluetest are very happy that MSI selected the Bluetest HP chamber instead of a test chamber using anechoic chamber technology. One of the key reasons is the possibility of very fast measurements of wireless devices with a size of up to 0.8 m in the relatively small Bluetest HP chamber".

Bluetest´s Japanese distributor TOYO Corporation showcased the Bluetest HP chamber at the Microwave Show MWE 2008 in Yokohama November 26 - 28, 2008. As a result several articles were published. Two of the leading industrial newspapers in Japan, The Nikkan Kogyo Shimbun (Dec 16) and The Nikkei Sangyo Shimbun (Dec 12) published articles with a photo and description of some of the features and advantages of the Bluetest HP chambers.
