Our story & milestones

2000

The company Bluetest AB was founded based on a vision developed by Professor Per-Simon Kildal from Chalmers University in Gothenburg, Sweden. The vision was about a novel compact OTA reverberation chamber for antenna measurements.

2001

Already in 2001, Bluetest’s first reverberation chamber for antenna measurements was available on the market. A research cooperation with TCO Development on how to measure mobile phones communication ability results in a contribution to the TCO´01 Certification of Mobile Phones standard.

2013

The introduction of LTE-Advanced and Carrier Aggregation measurements creates new challenges for the wireless industry and Bluetest is first on market with an OTA solution to meet this need. The innovative and cost-effective solutions result in the largest one-time order from one customer - 20 systems.

2019

Bluetest delivers their 300^th system and extends the product line-up with the RTS85HP targeting the base station segment and massive MIMO antennas. Bluetest expands the office premises with 40% and receives an “Electronics company of the year” award from the Electronics Industry Association in Gothenburg, Sweden.

2025

Bluetest adds Wifi 7 test support with multiple instrument options, including instruments from Anritsu, Rohde&Schwarz, and Bluetest’s own WiFi throughput tester, the TRU3.

Technology at a Glance

A Bluetest chamber is a metal cavity fitted with linear plate stirrers and a rotating turn table that creates an isotropic multipath field, mirroring real-world indoor and urban channels. Because field statistics replace angle-by-angle scans, engineers obtain repeatable KPIs 10× faster than anechoic chambers and can test MIMO, wide-band signals, beamforming and coexistence in one run.‍ Flow Manager offers drag-and-drop setup for new users, with batch jobs and parameter sweeps to automate complex test cases. Live result viewers allow for immediate feedback on the measurements, with more advanced data processing and customised scripts available in Flow Analyzer after the measurement is complete.

Global Footprint & Customer Base

Bluetest systems operate in more than 40 countries, supporting R&D centres from Silicon Valley to Shenzhen. Our customer list spans:

Mobile & IoT – Eight of the top ten smartphone brands and leading Wi-Fi chip vendors use RTS chambers for R&D and pre-certification.

Base stations – RTS85HP enables OTA testing of base stations according to 3GPP TS38.141-2, speeding up several required measurements and offloading the anechoic chamber systems.

Automotive – Tier-one suppliers validate WiFi and Bluetooth connected systems in both the RTS25 and RTS65.

Long-standing collaborations with equipment vendors such as Rohde & Schwarz, Anritsu, and Keysight; and leading universities keep instrument drivers and test scripts aligned with 3GPP standards, the latest Wi-Fi version, and emerging IoT standards. Flow’s open API lets customers push measurement data directly into Python, MATLAB or cloud dashboards for immediate analytics.
