Complex system testing in vehicles

Bluetest reverberation chambers are well suited for wireless over-the-air (OTA) measurements of non-standard device form factors. Take a wireless device embedded in a vehicle dashboard: the surrounding plastics, metals, and electronic components all interact with the antenna system, affecting transmission, reception, and data throughput performance. Design changes to minimize these effects can be tested rapidly, and the chamber's inherent multipath environment provides strong correlation with real in-car conditions.

External "shark fin" antenna efficiency, MIMO performance, and the impact of radome materials and surface coatings can be assessed by placing the antenna on a ground plane that emulates a car roof. The entire ground plane and antenna can be placed in the chamber's generous test volume and each measurement takes less than one minute, allowing engineers to evaluate a greater number of design alternatives in less time.

Evaluate co-existence and avoid interference

One area of increasing concern is the interaction between multiple wireless systems in a small confined space. Bluetest OTA measurement systems can aid in reducing potential problems at an early stage in the design process. Multiple devices running different communication standards can be connected simultaneously, making it easy to evaluate device interaction and interference avoidance in one setup. All common communication standards such as 5G NR, LTE, WLAN and Bluetooth are supported.

Faster design process with the RTS

By providing fast insights into device performance under challenging wireless conditions, Bluetest's measurement solutions accelerate the design process and reduce the need for late and expensive real life road tests. The RTS65 and RTS95 are excellent measurement systems to use when you want to validate your wireless solution in a vehicle.
