RTS85 is a reverberation test system built for large form factor devices, supporting DUT sizes up to 1.2 × 1.2 × 1.5 m with an Ø 1.2 m turntable supporting up to 150 kg. It targets wideband OTA testing—from sub-GHz cellular (including US Band 71 / 600 MHz) to 5G FR2 mmWave—and is also available as RTS85HP for high-power base-station testing.

RTS85 is a large reverberation chamber for OTA measurements on devices up to 1.2 m × 1.2 m × 1.5 m. It supports a Ø 1.2 m heavy-duty turntable for larger and heavier DUTs up to 150 kg. The large measurement space is ideal for devices like large TV screens, washing machines, large M2M devices, smart home appliances, wireless automotive subsystems, and car antennas.
Frequency coverage: RTS85 supports 450 MHz to 50 GHz, including accurate measurements in the US 600 MHz cellular band (Band 71) and 5G FR2 mmWave. RTS85 is also available as RTS85HP, a high-power version intended mainly for base station testing.
CTIA compliance: the reverberation chamber method is included as the only measurement methodology for wireless large form factor devices in CTIA’s OTA performance test plan. Devices larger than notebook-size (one dimension > 42 cm) are defined as large form factor devices, positioning RTS85 as suitable to fulfill CTIA test plan requirements.
Multipath environment: the shielded chamber’s reflective interior, turntable, and mode stirrers create a Rayleigh-faded rich isotropic multipath (RIMP) environment that is enabled by default and does not require expensive external multipath equipment. More complex environments (Doppler, delay profiles, MIMO correlation) can be supported by adding an external channel emulator.
Measurements & configuration: measurements are performed with a VNA or radio communication tester connected to one or more chamber antennas. Typical measurements include Antenna Efficiency, MIMO/Diversity gain, TRP, TIS, and data throughput vs received power. RTS85 can be configured with up to 16 sub-12 GHz measurement antennas and up to two 50 GHz measurement antennas. Moving from SISO to realistic LTE/WLAN/5G MIMO testing typically requires additional cables between the chamber and tester.
Software: RTS85 includes the Bluetest Flow platform (Flow Manager, Flow Touch, Flow Analyzer) for remote configuration, batch measurements, and database-backed analysis, comparison and reporting.

Optional Ø 1.2 m turntable supports up to 150 kg
RTS85 supports DUT sizes up to 1.2 × 1.2 × 1.5 m, with a Ø 1.2 m turntable supporting up to 150 kg, making it suitable for large products such as smart TVs and home appliances. Large form factor devices (one dimension > 42 cm) are covered in CTIA OTA test plans using reverberation chamber methodology, positioning RTS85 to fulfill CTIA test-plan requirements for this device category.

RTS85 creates a Rayleigh faded rich isotropic multipath (RIMP) environment using reflective walls, a turntable, and moving reflectors (mode stirrers). Multipath is enabled by default and supports evaluation of modern multi-antenna (MIMO) devices. Typical measurements include antenna efficiency, MIMO/diversity gain, TRP, TIS, and throughput vs received power. More advanced channel conditions can be supported with an external channel emulator.
