Bluetest strengthens its market presence in the base station Over-the-Air (OTA) test segment after receiving a substantial order for RTS85HP test systems from a global network infrastructure provider.
We are very satisfied with this important order, says Product Manager Klas Arvidsson. We see that the RTS85HP reverberation test system for base station testing is getting more and more market recognition as a tool for reducing overall test times and cost per test case.
The reverberation chamber has been included in 3GPP test specifications since 2019 for the new class of advanced base stations with highly integrated antenna elements and transceivers. These specifications (TS38.141-2, TS37.145-2) cover OTA conformance measurements on both 4G and 5G base stations operating in the sub-7.125 GHz domain as well as the mmWave range. The focus of the reverberation chamber is for isotropic RF-power measurements such as Total Radiated Power (TRP), Adjacent Channel Leakage Ratio (ACLR) and Spurious Emissions. A TRP and ACLR measurement on an 8-carrier 5G base station can be executed with good measurement uncertainty in one minute, and a 30–60 GHz spurious emission measurement is executed in less than 5 minutes.
The RTS85HP was released in 2018 and is continuously updated to align with the latest test requirements and test specifications. Bluetest, together with its customers, continues to explore the potential of the reverberation test system for further test efficiency gains. Bluetest has developed its own low loss, high pass-filters, which are used in combination with state-of-the art low noise amplifiers to ensure excellent dynamic range is achieved even at the highest frequencies. Another proof of Bluetest's innovative strength is its proprietary and patented method for Error Vector Magnitude (EVM) measurements in a reverberation chamber with multipath fading.
